Today in the Daily Office reading we come upon a verse from John’s Gospel that every good Longhorn should know.
“Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
Our Lord’s promise adorns the University of Texas main tower and intimidates all those who pass by on the south mall. These words stand as a marker that even in a secular age the words of Holy Scripture give meaning and inspiration to even the most ardent humanist. Hook ’em Jesus.
